How to Earn the AKC Time 2 Beat (T2B) Title
Time 2 Beat is agility's race against the fastest dog of the day. The quickest clean run in each jump height sets the time to beat, and every other clean run earns points by how close it came.

What the T2B takes
- 15 qualifying scores
- 100 Time 2 Beat points
- Then T2B2, T2B3 and on - AKC starts both counts again at zero after each title
- Preferred dogs earn the T2BP the same way, as its own title
Step by step
- Run the Time 2 Beat course clean, under the maximum course time, for a Q.
- The fastest qualifying dog in your jump height earns 10 points.
- Others earn 9 points within 10 percent of that time, 8 within 20 percent, down to 1.
- Reach 15 Qs and 100 points; then the counts reset for T2B2.

Common questions
How many Time 2 Beat points can one run earn?
Ten, for the fastest qualifying dog in the jump height. Every other qualifying run earns 1 to 9 points by how close its time is.
Do T2B points carry over after the title?
No. AKC sets the qualifying scores and points back to zero each time the title is earned, so T2B2 is another 15 Qs and 100 points.
Do Time 2 Beat Qs count toward anything else?
Yes. They count toward the Agility Grand Champion (AGCH) along with FAST.
