Common questions
Why do some breeds need more starters for a major?
AKC sets each breed's lure coursing schedule from how many of that breed run. Whippets, Rhodesian Ridgebacks and Borzoi have a schedule per region; the other breeds use one schedule everywhere.
What is a lure coursing major?
A first place worth 3 or more points. A Field Champion (FC) needs 15 points with 2 majors under 2 different judges.
Do second and third place earn points?
Yes, by what the first place earned: second gets 3, 2 or 1 point when first is worth 5, 4 or 3, and third gets 2 or 1 when first is worth 5 or 4.
