About AKCcalc.com

AKCcalc.com is a free website for people who show dogs and compete in AKC dog sports. It counts championship points, Fast CAT and agility points, keeps track of titles, and explains AKC showing in plain English - one place to look things up and keep score.

Why we built AKCcalc.com

Every time we wanted to know how many points a dog needed for a championship, we ended up searching the web - and kept finding different answers, buried in long articles and PDFs.

So we built the calculator we wanted: one that gets to the point. Type in what happened at the show and it tells you the points, whether it was a major and what is left to finish. Then it explains the AKC rules behind the answer, so championship showing makes sense instead of being a guessing game.

One calculator grew into a set of tools for the whole journey: Grand Championship and Owner-Handled points, Fast CAT, agility, rally, obedience and lure coursing, title trackers, a page for every AKC breed, and a free account that keeps your records on every device. Every answer still shows the AKC rule behind it.

Shauna: the dog show expertise

Shauna, of MyAmstaff.dog, is the dog show expertise behind AKCcalc.com. She guides the site's rules, its logic and its content: how points are counted, what each title asks for, and how every answer is explained, so the site gives the answer a competitor at ringside actually needs.

RJ: the builder

RJ is Shauna's husband. Technology is his background, and he wanted to support his wife's passion for showing dogs. So he created AKCcalc.com - for Shauna, and for other competitors tracking their AKC championship progress. He builds and runs the site at RJL.dev.
